GGM STATEMENT OF FAITH
GGM is a Bible-believing, Christ-centred, Spirit-filled, God glorifying ministry.
We believe in:
The Trinity – There is one God who exists in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal and co-eternal, and of the same nature
Monotheism – There is only one God in all existence
The deity of Christ and the Hypostatic Union (that Jesus is both fully God and man)
The Resurrection of Christ – Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, was buried, descended to hell and rose on the third day. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to the eleven apostles and to various others on numerous occasions before ascending to the right hand of His Father and sending the promised Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.
Salvation is a free Gift of God’s grace – 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2
Salvation is received by faith alone (John 1:12; Romans 10:9-10)
A person cannot enter the Kingdom of God unless he/she is born again (John 3:3, 5)
Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father (John 14:6) and is the proper object of faith. By entering into relationship with Christ and asking forgiveness for our sins thus accepting His Lordship, we are forgiven and restored to right relationship with God, inheriting eternal life.
God is love and God the Father sent His Son to die as a one-time sacrifice for our sins and restore our relationship to Himself through Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)
The forgiveness of sins through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Christ on the Cross and the promise of eternal life in Christ. All mankind is sinful and have fallen short of the glory of God.
The Gospel of the Good News of the Kingdom 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15
The Kingdom of God is a present reality which we can experience by way of new birth (John 3:3) and a realm into which men enter now (Matthew 21:31) through child-like faith (Mark 10:15)
The Kingdom of God is also a future Kingdom which will be consummated at the Second coming of Christ (Matthew 25:34, 8:11)
At the end of the Age the Lord will return to judge and separate the righteous from the unrighteous (Matthew 25:21-46)
The Bible is the infallible and inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Believers are to be baptised in water as a sign of remission of their sins (Matthew 28:19-20); Acts 2:38
Believers are also to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-5)
Believers are to partake of the Lord’s Supper (Luke 22:14-20)
Followers of Jesus are to fulfil the Great Commission. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28
Followers of Jesus are to fulfil the two Great Commandments summed up in Jesus words, 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 27
